France Sept 10-11

Alright everyone, I'm finally getting to our France adventure. We had such a blast. My cousin Aimee lives just outside of Le Mans so we were able to stay about five days with her and get to know her husband and two boys better. I will be a bit detailed, but that will mainly be for me so I can remember things so I'm sorry if it's boring!

This is us on the train ride to Le Mans after our 10 hour flight. We also had to figure out how to get a train ticket, get on the right train, and find the right seats all in another language. Not to mention it was about 2am in Utah when we arrived and we were at the airport/train station for a couple hours, then took a 2 hour train ride to Le Mans, where thankfully Aimee was waiting to take care of us.

Chateau Le Lude

The streets of Le Lude. They were desolate at the time because it was during their lunch 12-1:30. Everyone goes home for lunch including schools, stores, and just everyone. I wish we did that here!

Teaser

I know there's atleast a few people who want to see our pictures and keep checking our blog only to find the same posts that have been on here for a while, so I thought I'd give you all a teaser. I haven't had much time to organize everything, but I promise it will be soon. As Seriously So Blessed would put it.....Best Vacay Ever!

Young, Married, and NO Kids! (this should be my new Blog name)

So this odd lady overheard that I was heading to France and this is how the conversation went...
Lady in a baby voice: "Oh, are you going with your parents?"
Me: "No, with my husband."
Lady: "Oh, you're married?"
Me: "Yeah."
Lady: "Did you guys win a trip?"
Me: "Nope we're just going for fun."
Lady: "You must not have kids then."
Me: "Yep you're right, no kids."
Then I walked away annoyed as she was saying "well, this is the time to do it then."

Apparently you can only go to France if...
A: Your parents pay for it.
B: You win it
C: You don't have kids

Youth Conference

For Youth Conference this year it was just our ward and we had activities around the valley instead of heading somewhere, which turned out well because I got to sleep in my own bed. I feel like I've been on a spiritual high this summer with everything I've been able to participate in. I wasn't able to attend on Friday due to a wedding, but Saturday we went down town and weeded Memory Grove. It was funny because the kids kept saying "which ones are weeds?" Then we had multiple activities around Temple Square including the Joseph Smith movie which was really good. The picture below is during a scavenger hunt that we had to take pictures of certain things around Temple Square.

The activity Saturday night was my favorite. We told the kids we were doing relay races or something, but what we really did was blindfold them and made them hold on to the rope. The only rule was to Hold On To the Rope! Well, little did they know tempters were in place to get them off the rope. Gregg and I got to be the tempters. We were actually very successful by using phrases like "good job you're done," or "your mom/sibling needs you." Once they let go they had to sit there until the bishop came and led them back to the rope. It was a really cool object lesson. Below you see Gregg trying to offer money to one of the kids in his Sunday School class. It was my favorite picture of the whole thing. (Thanks to the Matsumori's for taking pictures.)

What's with the fly?

Why do I always have sunglasses on? Looking back on a lot of pics I realized my eyes hardly show and that can be very scary sometimes. Well people...since I had lasik I've been very careful to keep UV rays away from my eyeballs. Also, my eyes are more sensitive to the sun now and since I was a pretty bad case I want to keep my eyes healthy as long as possible. Plus, I just love huge sunglasses!

Girl's camp Pt2

Yay, I found my camera! Well if I'm being honest Gregg found it. Here are a few fun pics from camp I thought I'd share. Over to my left is Camille another leader. We are always getting mistaken for one of the girls. Below is Senor Frog. His head was later found on the top of the flag pole.

This is one of the girls holding an award from the stake leaders that got traded around all camp. It was a (generic) care bear because we were so caring that day. It had creepy hair on top which I cut off and made a mustache and some arm pit hair. Needless to say our ward did not get any more awards the rest of the time.

YaY, we have married friends!

Not to offend anyone, because I have plenty of married friends, but this is around the first of Gregg's friends that we're close to that have gotten married. Tony and Katrina are awesome and I'm so excited for them. I did Katrina's hair which was really fun. Unfortunately, I don't have a pic of her, but she looked absolutely beautiful. They had dancing which was so fun especially since Gregg and I have awesome moves oh AND the very last song was 'The Luckiest', by Ben Folds which happens to be our song. It was great to share the whole day with them.
