REALLY!?!

I always loved the skit REALLY!?! with Seth and Amy on SNL and something today made me think REALLY!?! I might have to make it a normal occurrence on our blog. We'll see...
I've got to enjoy the stay at home mom experience this week with my niece while my bro and sis in law are out of town and around 3:45 nothing was on and I remembered Dr. Phil was still on at that time. Well, as baby J was still munching on her snack Oprah came on and the topic was about a mom who just got out of jail has been in there for most of the past SEVEN years and has three young kids (of course). Her most recent jail time was for trying to snatch a lady's purse for drug money. She said "I had a good life growing up, I was a cheerleader, on the honor roll and had a good family. When I started getting high NO ONE TOLD ME I'D GET ADDICTED AND IT WOULD SCREW MY LIFE UP."
REALLY!?! REALLY!?! She didn't hear the thousands of lectures every year in school that said SAY NO TO DRUGS (or just say no) you will get addicted and you will die...(sorry, Mean Girls quote). I mean how many lectures and assemblies did we have just on this topic? That's like me saying "no one told me if I punched myself in the face it would hurt and I might get a bruise." I mean REALLY!?! come on honor roll girl!! Everyone knows that drugs are addictive! If you did drugs, you did drugs, but don't act like you didn't know what you were getting into. You knew and you still chose drugs. IDIOT! Oh...and this time when you're out of jail for 5 seconds...wear a condom...really...

EASTERslashBAPTISMslashORDINATION

For Easter this year we got to go to Idaho Falls for Bridger's baptism. Kayson also waited to be ordained a deacon so that we could all be there. We always have fun in IF, but time always goes by way too fast.

What Not to Wear

A little while ago I was complaining to Gregg that I had absolutely nothing to wear. As most of you can relate this is not REALLY the case, I just didn't have anything I wanted to wear. Gregg simply said he would pick something out for me and I just laughed knowing ANYTHING he picked would not be acceptable for the function we were going to. So he took this as a challenge and when I got out of the shower I had this lovely outfit waiting for me. He then explained why he picked each article of clothing.
HAT: so I didn't have to do my hair
LONG SLEEVED SHIRT: so I didn't get cold
CARDIGAN: I actually don't know why he picked that
SHORTS: so I didn't get too hot
SOCKS: to keep my feet warm
SHOES: and I quote "to keep things classy"
Ya gotta love him. It made me laugh anyway...

Spring Break

Our niece Kelsey and nephew Cameron came and spent their spring break with us this year. Although I highly wish I still had a spring break, it was fun to have a mini one while they were here.
We were able to do a ton of fun stuff. The list includes...
-Jazz game (They both got Korver apparel. I practically made Kelsey choose him and I think we all know why...)
-Swimming (my ear ended up getting plugged and I was deaf for three days, but Cameron got to experience his aunt's earwax first hand. TMI I know...)
-3D movie at the Clark Planetarium (we were all mistaken for middle school kids which I resent, but Cameron did make a new friend that wouldn't stop talking to him the entire movie)
-Dinner at Virg's multiple times
-Let's face it...who wouldn't enjoy an entire week with us?

Herc was especially sad to see them go. He had gotten used to having friends home with him all day. He really favored Cam the whole time and I think it's because Cam threw the ball endlessly to him. In fact at one point Herc actually got sick of fetching which has never EVER happened. It got to the point where Herc refused to sleep with me and would curl right up to Cam for the entire night. I admit I was a little jealous when it was time to go to bed and I told Herc to come and he didn't budge from Cam's side (see last pic). So I thought to myself that right after I went to bed Herc would coming running. Well, a few minutes later I peeked out of my bedroom and sure enough he was there waiting for me (or so I thought). Right then, Cam came out of the bathroom and Herc went on his merry way to follow Cam. I can honestly say Herc has never liked ANYONE more than me, but I guess that's what happens when you throw him his ball for 12 hours strait.
