A day I'd like to call, "Lacey's Birthday"

As many know, May 2nd to May 31st is a special time at our household. We have all month to prepare for Lacey's special day. Unfortunately I was unable to get all the birthday requests on Lacey's list, so if anybody has an extra Vespa scooter that they would like to donate, that would be great. I'm so happy that we are able to spend the entire day together. As many of you know, Lacey ends up working about every Saturday, and I hardly have any Mondays off, so it's not often that we get this much time free time together. I have now known Lacey for 5 years, which is crazy to think. The first birthday I knew Lacey is when I decided that I really liked this girl. The story goes.......Lacey's cousins Trevor and Carla planned a suprise birthday at the Old Spaghetti Factory with some other friends. My assignment was to showup to Lacey's hair school, suprise her and take her the "long" way to the restaurant so she wouldn't know where we were going. I wanted to get her something for her b-day,but I wasn't sure if it was to soon in our courtship. I didn't want to be the crazy guy who showed up with a life-sized stuffed animal, so I thought one flower would be good, not too much, not too little, but thoughtful. It happened to be a very hot day that year and by the time the flower made it from the shop, to my house, to the car, and to Lacey's school, it died. This is when panic set in, I had to have something, but I didn't have time to get anything else....so I did what any other normal person would do...I gave her the dead flower. Don't get me wrong, I felt like any idiot, but I figured she would overlook the present, and see the gesture, and sure enough she did. Needless to say the drive to Old Spaghetti Factory didn't go much better. On the way there Lacey's sister Erica, called her from Idaho, and asked if we had made it to the restaurant and spoiled the suprise element. Once we got there, the night went much better and we had a great time....the end.
I love Lacey so much, she is such a great person. I'm so lucky to have her in my life. I hope that she has a very happy, happy birthday....and I look foward to the many birthdays together in the future. I LOVE you Lacey.

6 Random Things About Me

Tagged by Kashayla :)

1. I am allergic to onions. No, I don't hate onions I actually like them, but they make me sick and every pot luck/shower has food that is covered in onions. Really? Is there no other way to flavor!?

2. I am horrible with words. I am not one who explains herself easily. Family knows this because they make fun of me. For some reason especially in groups I get really self conscious and nervous and I cannot say a darn thing right. So, I overcompensate by not talking at all or talking way too much and sounding like an idiot.

3. I love trying new foods. Sushi and Indian food are my favorite. Beef is not cool though. For some reason I got sick when I was little and my mom was making tacos and it was over from then on. That also includes steak. I don't like steak...I just don't okay?

4. Idaho will always be home to me. Every time I say I'm from Idaho people say "oh small town huh?" Like it's a bad thing or something. I love it there. It feels secure and relaxing, which I just can't say about Utah....sorry. There is just something about the 4th of July and town square that is just pure magical...haha. I could go on and on about this one.

5. I am a huge music lover! Like almost obsessive. I took piano and singing lessons all growing up and I miss it terribly. There is always music playing wherever I go...car, home, computer you name it!

6. I am the baby of the family and it shows! It explains a lot of my personality. There are a lot of things that come with being the youngest of six kids. I get teased like no other, a little harassment never bothers me now. To this day when I'm out with my mom and she runs into someone she knows it's always "this is my baby...I know can you believe how big she is?" I got this one a lot at Quinn's reception. I can't help that maybe I'm a little on the selfish side of things. It's just part of the territory. haha! Good thing I married a middle child!

Okay, now I tag Callie, Jess, Kimberly, and Venita.

Memorial Day

Gregg and I normally go to Idaho for Memorial Day, but we have been there quite often recently so we decided to stay home and do yard work and such. Well, as most of you know Monday was a rainy day meant to stay inside. So Gregg and I slept in big time, then went to a matinee, then went to Brad and Tricia's for a BBQ and some Wii time. I can't even remember the last time Gregg and I got to spend a day together other than Sunday. It was really fun!

Quinn and Niki's Reception

Quinn and Niki had two receptions and this is the one in Idaho. I couldn't have been better weather. It was perfect. Well...other than the fact I got seven mosquito bites on one foot. Hopefully I don't get the West Nirus Virus as my dad says.

Quinn and Niki taking final pictures. Isn't that yard beautiful? Ed and Alpha worked sooo hard on it and it looked great!
Makadee and Addison trying to hold still for five seconds.
Here we are, full from candy. Apparently the left side of the table had no clue someone was taking a picture.
Teagan, Bridger, and Blake
This is the table I hung out at most. yummmm.....

Niki's Shower

Here's some pictures from Niki's shower. We had breakfast at Perkin's and it was really fun. It was the best way to throw a shower!

Here we are waiting for the boys to come pick us up.

More Pictures of Us

Here is some pictures of Gregg and I at Quinn and Niki's reception. If you're getting sick of seeing us, I'm sorry...it is our blog! haha. Anyway, I will post pictures of the bride and groom soon, I think I forgot my camera for every single event they had. So once again Stacey has to forward pictures on to me. She is much better at it anyway and she has one of those really expensive cameras I want for my birthday....uhum...

This is some randomness for sure

Okay, so it's not officially birthday month yet because today is Bruce's birthday and Tricia and I set this day aside for him. Sorry Bruce you only get one day. Some people just aren't lucky enough to have birthday's on the 31st. Bruce is an awesome father in law and we share many inside jokes, just me and him. He even came to one of my "girly" appointments recently, (don't worry not in the room) so I could have a second set of ears when the doctor talked to me in his office. His kids have always come first in his life and it shows. Love ya Brucey!

So, on to more events of the day...yesterday I was cuddling with Herc and picking out little found treasures he always has in his big curly ears (I know gross, but ya just have to) and I found what I thought to be a weed or something....so I worked on it to get it out and a big chunk of hair came out. Ewwww, I didn't think too much about it, but then a second and third chunk came out. Okay, so now I'm freaking out. Then he has a spot that starts bleeding. I'm thinking "oh no, my baby is going to die." So I immediately call Gregg and of course he is thinking "Lace, you're crazy." Then I called the vet and got an appointment early this morning which my friend Mattie came with me to because Herc freaks out so she helped me hold him down. Well, come to find out he just has a yeast infection and some ointment will clear it up. I wish I would have known that last night so I could have slept better instead of thinking the whole house has rash grossness in it. Also, it is not contagious. yea! I feel much better, thanks for asking...
I forgot to post these pictures of Herc, but this is his daily routine when Gregg gets home.
1. Grab ball run around couch three times
2. Run outside, stare at ball
3. Wait for ball to be kicked
4. Go to doggy door to see if mom or dad are coming
5. Get a better view, maybe they'll notice me and then I wait some more 6. Poke head through door to get attention.
7. Run back to grass and stare at ball. Wait for it to move.
Okay, I'm admit our dog has issues (or maybe it's me) but, we still LOVE him!
