3 days until birthday month

Most of you know my birthday month soon approaches. It is on the 31st of May for those of you who don't. Tricia and I share the same birthday so it is nice to have someone to back me up on this whole birthday month thing. Okay so it's hard to keep track of what I want so I thought I would make a list and maybe narrow it down later. Also, it is good for Gregg to know as well. haha. okay here goes...

-Scooter (so I can ride back and forth to work) My mom said I couldn't because she would just worry all the time that I would get ran over by all the horrible Salt Lake drivers...

-Bicycle (next best thing to scooter right?) Well okay I couldn't ride that alllll the way to work, but we are right by the Jordan River walkway and I saw and ad for a cute old school cruiser yesterday. I already have an awesome mountain bike and I told Gregg he could have that one...I'm such a good wife...haha. It just needs to be brought down from Idaho.

-Sunglasses Okay I admit I already have a great pair that I didn't treat very well and they are scratched. Also, shopping for Gregg's got me to thinking....

-New Camera I want a really nice one with scope and all. Right there shows you I know nothing about cameras, but a really expensive one should do

-Books, Books, and more Books This is just a given

-New scriptures I'm still using the ones I got for baptism, but I can't seem to give them up because they are already marked and broken in. Yes, I realize this should be at the top of the list, but I'm not going in order.

-A shopping trip This will happen no matter if I get other gifts or not, because it is birthday tradition for both of our birthdays. I always tend to find things on Gregg's birthday...hehe

-Yes there is more, but I can't remember right now, so I will get back to ya'll later. Oh and I know I sound like a spoiled brat, but this birthday month is taken very serious and obviously we are not going to spend that much money on me....or are we :).....haha But for real this is a sarcastic post for all of you that didn't get that.

Young Women Conference

I had the opportunity to attend the Young Women Conference at our stake center a couple weeks ago with our young women. Pres. Eyring gave such a beautiful talk. The spirit was so strong and I thought there was no way I could deny that the church was true. His talk made me think of how temporary this life is and how one day I wont have to live with certain health problems or watch family members suffer as well. Yesterday the young women's president gave the lesson and she shared his talk again. After we went around the room and each said, "I'm a daughter of Heavenly Father who loves me and knows me personally." This is so true, even though it seems so easy for me to forget as I get older and trials come my way. A little insert from his talk is this-
I testify to you that you have been one of the valiant ones to reach the point where you now are in this journey of life. Just as you are marked as a target by the enemy of righteousness, you have been protected and watched over by your Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. They know you. They know all of the forces and individuals around you. They know what is ahead of you. And so They know which of the choices you make, which of the desires you decide to satisfy, and which of the circumstances around you will make the most difference in keeping you walking in the light. I testify that by the Spirit of Christ and by the Holy Ghost, you may walk confidently in whatever difficulties will come. Because you are so valuable, some of your trials may be severe. You need never be discouraged or afraid. The way through difficulties has always been prepared for you, and you will find it if you exercise faith.

This hit me so strongly and it was just what I needed to hear right now. I hope you all enjoy it as well. http://lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,23-1-851-42,00.html Click there to read the whole talk.

Gregg's Birthday

It's hubby's birthday today, so very exciting. I already gushed about him at our anniversary, but I already love him more than I did then. ahhh! He only wanted one thing for his birthday and that was Jazz shorts, but they are out of them for the season, so when I asked him what else he wanted he said, "nothing, I'm sure I can just find something later." He is so different from me in this aspect. I already have a list a mile long for my birthday. I guess that's why we are so good together. He is so giving, but never asks for much in return. So I bought him some really nice sunglasses because I knew he would never ask for something expensive on his own and he loves them. He's afraid to let them out of his sight in case they get broken or stolen. Oh, how cute is he?

Yay, Rupert!

My friend Emily sent me this link for a clip on the Today Show. It's about the Idaho Youth Ranch which is close to my parents farm. In fact it was even in our ward boundries. I had the oppurtunity to give a talk there when I was a teenager. Anyway, I love anything to do with my home town and it is so cool that the Today Show donated so much to them. If you have a minute take a chance to watch it! http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/24100472/

Hey I just wanted to show everyone this cute website. Brad and Tricia's brother and sister-in-law (Spencer and Jamie) started it and I think they are so darling.
